Chicken Falls from Truck is impaled in Car Window -animal cruelty charges pending

Last Wednesday a woman was following a truck carrying a load of Leghorn chickens on old HWY 99, when the truck hit a pot hole that caused one of the chickens to bounce up and out of one of the crates. The chicken flew into the air and hit head-first into the Tacoma woman's windshield, where it's beak stuck into the glass like an arrow.



The woman was able to keep her composure, until she tried to dislodge the chicken with the windshield wiper. The woman was nauseated by the ensuing blood and feathers being wiped across her windshield, and as she pulled over and was vomiting beside her car, a member of the local agency for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals took notice.

Now the woman is not only forced to deal with a cracked and bloodied windshield and the embarrassment of getting sick on the side of the road, she also has animal cruelty charges pending, as the agency investigates the possibility that the woman might have thrown the chicken into the windshield intentionally.
